Mike and Olly Strive Challenge Update - Day 6

Strive Challenge

After the trials and tribulations the past days have thrown at the Strivers, who are hiking 180km across the Alps in order to raise money for Big Change  -,the Strivers were approaching their final ascent of 1100m followed by their final descent afterwards on their route to St. Niklaus from Gruben.

On their way up the mountain, passing boulders and rocks, the guides suggested that it should take over 3 hours, however, the Strivers managed to climb to the col in 1 hour and 45 minutes, where they could see their final destination for the day, the valley at the bottom of the mountain, where they will stay for the night and continue down the valley on day 7.

The early arrival to the top of the mountain of course gave Mike and Olly some time to have fun and get some great pictures!

It didn’t take long after the ascent up the mountain for the grey clouds above to open as it poured on the Strivers, who, battling cramps, blisters  and torrential rain, continued through and even said no to the lift back down the mountain.

Despite all of the hard work and weather, the Strivers ended the day still smiling and looking forward to the next leg of the hike down the valley. Remember to come back on Monday to find out how the weekend has been for the Strivers.
