Gwent Beekeepers CIO is an active, friendly group with over 200 members and our aim is to encourage, improve and advance beekeeping in the area covered by the former county of Gwent. To do this we organise a number of services and social events to support beekeepers and inform the general public. We also work to represent beekeeping both nationally and internationally and actively promote bees and beekeeping to schools, WI's, church groups and other organisations. We put a lot of effort into providing "Taster Days", running a beginners course, teaching novices and improvers. Non-members are welcome to attend our monthly meetings and apiary sessions. We are one of the nine members of MSW beekeeping convention, a group of associations that take it in turns to host an annual weekend beekeeping conference.
