| | Bosch TDS2510GB Steam generator iron | Written on 09 February 2008 | This is an excellent iron. Heats up very quickly and has a tank that you can top up as and when required without the need to unplug and de-pressurise (as I had to with my last much older model - not a Bosch!)
However, my one concern is that it does not have a system whereby you can "anchor" the iron itself to the base unit for transporting it - either to commence ironing or, to return it to your storage space/cupboard. I received this as a Christmas gift (Dec 2007) and, after the first time I used it when putting the unit back into my cupboard (with the cable stowed correctly) the iron (which was still hot!) slipped off and onto my forearm on which I sustained a 2.5 " burn. Even with the cable stowed as per the manufacturers instructions I feel the iron could still fall off the unit and hit the person carrying it or even a chlid. Bosch state that this product conforms to the "European Norm" (the old British Standards) and as such would not sell it otherwise. I feel this needs to be looked at by all manufacturers as a possible design fault/safety issue. The iron does the job really well - I just have safety concerns.
