FlixBus Features

Night Buses

Taking one of their night buses means you will not have to waste a day travelling, while your journey will likely be quicker too.

There are hundreds of connections, with night buses travelling to many European cities each night. There are fewer stops than on day routes, meaning your travel time should be shorter. There will be no need to worry about missing out on sleep as you will find spacious legroom and adjustable seats which will ensure you can get comfortable.

Buy snacks and drinks to keep you going, while there will be no unnecessary stops as there is a toilet on board. If you do find yourself awake for the duration of the trip, you can stay connected by using the free Wi-Fi and plug sockets available until arrival.

Their night bus service can take you from the FlixBus London Victoria coach station stop to places like Paris, Brussels, Prague, Bonn, Dortmund and Dusseldorf, though due to the fact their night network is developing fast, you will soon be able to arrive in every major city in Europe overnight.

FlixBus Charter

If you are travelling Europe in a large group, FlixBus Charter allows you to hire a private bus with friendly driver.

Not only will your personal driver get you to your destination in comfort, but they will be available to take you on local trips once you are there. When you book, you can be sure the price will include taxes, parking charges, tolls and driver accommodation, if needed.

Whether you are planning a multi-day class trip or one-day excursion, you can hire one for a school outing, while they are also ideal for company events such as a site visit or team bonding exercise.

Finally, if you are travelling in Europe with a group, you can hire a bus for a wedding, skiing holiday, club trip or if you and a group of friends are going to see your favourite European team in action. Just enter the number of passengers, date and desired route into the instant price calculator. If details are a little more complicated, drop FlixBus an email and they will send you a personalised offer.

On Board

On board all FlixBus coaches you will find free plug sockets, extra legroom, low cost snacks and drinks, as well as plenty of space for your baggage.

If you are on a long journey, you can browse the Internet, check your emails and chat with friends thanks to the free Wi-Fi. All FlixBuses have toilets, while as well as being able to store hand luggage in overhead compartments, their bus drivers will help you with your hold luggage.

If you need to plug in your mobile phone or laptop, plug sockets are available, while FlixBus also guarantee you a seat with extra room to stretch out your legs, while all seats have adjustable backrests. You can enjoy the on-board facilities for less if you sign up to TopCashback and make use of our cashback deals and FlixBus voucher codes, if available.

Luggage

No matter how long you are travelling for, each FlixBus has plenty of space for luggage.

As a general rule, your bus ticket will include one item of hand luggage weighing no more than 7kg (maximum 42 x 30 x 18cm) and one hold item weighing no more than 20kg (maximum 80 x 50 x 30cm and being no more than 160cm in circumference).

Additional luggage, which must adhere to the weight and size restrictions, can be taken for a fee of two Euros when booked at the time of buying your ticket. If an item of luggage exceeds the above dimensions, you will need to pay nine Euros, though it cannot exceed a total circumference of 240cm or weigh more than 30kg.

Only one special piece of luggage, such as skis and musical instruments, can be taken per person and there is no guarantee of space. Many coaches allow you to take a standard size bicycle weighing no more than 25kg for a fee of £7, while some of their buses will take pushchairs, wheelchairs and walking aids for free, though they must be registered with them by telephone 36 or 48 hours before departure.

Company History

FlixBus was founded in Munich as a startup company in 2013 following the deregulation of the German bus market by three young entrepreneurs, with their aim being to make low cost, sustainable bus travel both comfortable and affordable.

They launched their first route in February 2013 and, within a year, were operating a nationwide network in Germany. At the same time, another startup bus company, MeinFernbus, began operating routes throughout Germany from Berlin.

The two established themselves as leaders of the long-distance bus market, gaining a strong position among international competitors. The two decided to merge in 2015 and FlixBus have since expanded internationally, establishing domestic long-distance bus networks in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria and Croatia, as well as regular cross-border services to Scandinavia, Spain, England and the region and central and eastern Europe, by working with various bus partners.
