I'm a frequent buyer on ebay. I have noticed that although they are happy to pay out a couple of pence on a low value sale, annoyingly they are reluctant to pay up when you make a sizeable purchase. This has happened to me on numerous occasions. However they do generally pay up when a missing cashback claim is opened although this may take many months.

Don't really bother much with ebay nowadays since they started to only offer cashback on certain categories, and especially now that it seems that items don't track anymore (i had to get something from ebay recently and just put in a claim as it didn't track either).

Since the categories have been introduced it is just not worth the hassle with ebay as very few transactions will ever track with them anymore. The whole ebay cashback has become a waste of time.

Appalling. Spent almost £400.00 At ebay and after months of wrangling, had cashback claim denied. Ebay used to be so much better

Ebay hardly every tracks any more. Disappointing as I used to love ebay but there service has been pretty poor lately. Topcashback should remove merchants that constantly refuse to pay out...

Not for the first not for the first time my cash back has been under valued.I wona item for 44.99 So 10 % = 4.49 - Tax say 30% =1.45 Leaves 3.04 So 30% of that = 91p so I get paid 59p = 32p short and thats not including any fees for listing.............Is somebody taking there own % ?????

Just hits or miss with the buy sometime track fine and sometime not at all and take forever to get the claim payout.

Have to agree with everyone else. Ebay used to be brilliant at tracking but since categories were introduced is very hit and miss. It will track once in a while, but always overlooks the more expensive purchases. Not a good service any longer i'm afraid.

Cashback tracking is weak and only happens every now and again. I always clear cookies before all purchases, login to topcashback and then visit merchant through topcashback. Ebay tracks the least out of all merchants.

I've not earned cashback for a while now, though, like others have had fairly successful experiences before. I now go to ebay through nectar. The points there always track.

Further to my previous comments below, it appears that any small value item tends to track ok (mostly), but I have bought 2 expensive items in electronics (an lcd tv and digital camera) - neither of these have tracked. It makes you wonder if this is a deliberate decision by ebay. Sadly, it looks like ebay is going into self-destruct mode - by reducing cashback they will find they make fewer sales and, by reducing powersellers fees discounts they are forcing higher prices or sellers leaving ebay altogether. No sellers = no buyers = no revenue for ebay. They must do something immediately to stop the rot.

Cashback and ebay has now become one big joke,purchased 8 items within the electronics category and followed all the procedures with regards to cashback. And surprise surprise not 1 of these 8 items tracked so have lodged 8 missing claims so we shall see what happens. Interestingly I have no problems with other merchants the cashback tracks and shows in most cases within 48hrs.

I purchased an apple macbook pro for just over a grand, I was expecting at least double digits cashback (£10+) but was shocked when I got 75p hardly worth it in my opinion

People are complaining because before the end of last year it was better, more cashback 45% and it worked everytime.

Yet again for the 5th time in a row, even making sure cookies were working, ebay cashback fails to deliver. Its relly becoming pointless!!. It should never have been changed!.

Kwl88, the ebay cashback is based on the 10% final value fee (max. £40) Less 15% luxembourg vat, therefore £10 is about right. You used to get about £15 when the cashback rate was 40%.

Bought a lens for 500 pounds last week and got about 15 pounds cash back. Bought a 600 pound lens this week and only got about 10 pound cash back. Both items were in the photography category (which attracts a final value fee of 10%), so why the discrepancy? 30.3% Of 60 pounds isn't 10 pounds!
