| | 321 GS II - PERFECT!! | Written on 17 June 2008 | THE BOSE 321 GS IS FANTASTIC, UNLIKE OTHER 2.1 SYSTEMS IT DOESNT USE REFLECTION TO FILL THE ROOM IT USES PYCHO ACOUSTICS. THIS BASICALLY MEANS SOUNDS ARE SENT OUT AT DIFFERENT VOLUMES AND TIMES TO TRICK YOUR EARS INTO BELIEVING YOU HAVE ALL 5 SPEAKERS! THIS ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE YOUR TV IN THE CORNER AND HAVE A TYPICAL SEATING ARANGEMENT (sofa + chairs) WITHOUT SACRIFICING THE SURROUND SOUND EFFECT. SOMEONE HAS SAID IT LACKS FEATURES, I DONT BELIEVE IT DOES. IT HAS THE BASICS AND ALLOWS YOU TO PLUG IN OTHER SOURCES eg - blueray. THIS MAKES IT FUTURE PROOF! IN TERMS OF AUDIO QUALITY, WELL ITS BOSE! ! ! ITS AWESOME!!! CRISP,CLEAR AND PACKS PLENTY OF BASS. | | | SIMPE, ELEGANT AND POWERFUL | Written on 22 January 2008 | I BOUGHT A 321GS MKII IN DECEMBER 2007 AFTER CONSIDERING OTHER MAKES AND THE POSSIBILTIY OF A 5.1 SYSTEM. I AM GLAD I DIDN'T. THERE ARE MANY REASONS FOR THIS: 1) WE HAVE WOOD FLOORING SO IT IS DIFFICULT TO HIDE CABLES AND THERE IS NO REAL 'WIRELESS' SPEAKER SYSTEM ALTERNATE.NOR DO I LIKE DRILLING HOLES IN WALLS FOR STANDS AND MOUNTS.
2) I AM NOT A GADGET GEEK AND DO NOT ENJOY SPENDING TIME FIDDLING ABOUT WITH THINGS.
3) WHEN YOU WANT TO HEAR MUSIC OR SEE A MOVIE, YOU WANT TO DO JUST THAT! NOT TO MESS ABOUT WITH 'SET UPS' AND FANCY AMPLIFIERS ETC... BUT SIMPLY BE ENTERTAINED.
THE BOSE DOES EVERYTHING YOU WANT FROM A SIMPLE AND YET POWERFUL SYSTEM. THE SOUND IS BRILLIANT. THE OPERATION IS 'FOOL PROOF'. IT IS A USER FREINDLY HOME ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM WHICH WILL MAKE YOU WONDER WHAT 'WERE YOU DOING ALL THIS TIME ?'.
WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED? THE PRICE IS SLIGHTLY HIGHER COMPARED TO OTHER 2.1 SYSTEMS BUT IT IS WORTH THAT BIT MORE FOR THE SHEER QUALITY. IT IS A PERFECT PARTNER TO OUR PLASMA T.V.AND WE ENJOY WATCHING MOVIES WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE BE JUST ORDINARY.
IT PLAYS MUIC CD'S LIKE I'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE. THE CLARITY OF SOUND IS WONDERFUL AND MAKES YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO YOUR OLD FAVOURITES AGAIN AND AGAIN!
| | | Bose 321 GS - shame about the features ! | Written on 08 December 2005 | | I bought a BOSE 321 GS 2 months ago, having been blown away by the demo in the shop. Sadly in some ways it has fallen short of expectations. Can you believe that a £1,000 audio system does NOT permit headphones and does NOT allow the user to programme the order of tracks if playing a CD !!!!!! Since making this discovery, I have continued to feel slightly let-down by BOSE. It is like spending £25,000 on a car only to find that it does not have electric windows and there is no air-conditioning ! I can find no excuse whatsoever for these omissions. As to the good points, the sound quality is far better than anything else i have ever heard - which is really what we buy such systems for. As other reviews state, you find yourself hearing things that you never heard before, and so this makes you want to play your entire CD selection. It sort of makes you fall in love with your favourite bands all over again - which is a good thing. Now another thing - so far I have not used it as a DVD player set up through my TV. Strangely it is not possible to alter the bass or treble unless it is set up as a DVD player through the TV. This is agin rather strange for such an expensive system. Overall I feel that I should have spent more time considering other manufacturers such as Denon. I might still have settled on the BOSE for its simplicity and inconspicuousness, but there are several flaws with this particualr system to be aware of. | | | 3.2.1...now lets absorb some quality sound | Written on 30 March 2005 | | I have had my Bose 3-2-1 GS system for a week now. I own quite a few CDs and can not stop pulling them off the shelf to test in the quality bit of kit. It gives your CDs a new lease of life as the system pulls out sounds you hardly new existed. I am not sure about the '3D sound' it is supposed to make and reckon it should be able to play .mpgs but other than that it's faultless. It looks great, sound amazing and is worth the money. The DVD player is a DVD player. I personally don't buy into these 5 way speaker systems (except pro-logic) as they're a hassle to set up and the surround sound is not convincing (except my mates pro-logic system). I also don't need a DVD burner to record stuff off the TV etc - so it's better to spend the money on two quality Gemstone tweeters and a phat subwoofer. The simple two way tone set up also works well. Bass ^ Treble go from + to - 15... and the volume goes up to 100! That a % system if I am not mistaken. Obviously listen to all your stuff at 100%. | | | BOSE QUALITY | Written on 22 January 2005 | | I was quite apprehensive about buying a Bose system due to comments elsewhere, on other websites about Bose systems in general being overpriced and overhyped. I am now the proud owner of a 3-2-1 gs system. The sound quality is awesome and the setup and general operations quite easy. I would definitely recommend this system if you have space issues with a traditional surround sound sytem. | | |
