Valentine’s Day Blues?
I dunno – no Blog for years and now two of them in quick succession!!!
Slightly off-topic, but on this Valentine’s Day, I got to thinking. I remember only too clearly my teenage and student years when my Valentine’s Card total would equal a big, fat zero! All I can say is that I wish, in those days, internet dating sites had existed.
Looking around to see what’s on offer, I couldn’t help but notice the following. Match.com are offering cashback of £45 per 6 month signup (which costs around £65). Furthermore, if you don’t find someone special during your 6-month subscription, then they say that you’ll get the next 6 months free. So you can get a whole years membership for only £20 (that’s less than a couple of quid per month).
Alternatively, if you’re feeling confident that you can make it happen quickly, you can get £20 cashback for a one-month subscription which only costs you £22.80 or, perhaps slightly less tempting, is the offer of £32.50 cashback for a three-month subscription (costing £45.65).
Beware though, once signed up, I believe your subscription will run until you cancel – so be sure to keep a note of the date that you’ll need to cancel.
So if you’re feeling a little sad at the lack of Valentine’s cards – you now have no excuse!

I was a right pillock this year. being clever i thought Id get my card for my girlfriend nice and early...I picked one up and then just hid it away in the cupboard until the night before Valentines day when I took it out to fill it in. To my horror I noticed that it said 'To My HUSBAND!!!', I must have accidentally picked the wrong card from the shelf and instead of it saying 'Girfriend ...it said husband!!' (she saw tha funny side though and we had a great laugh! d;-) |

I generally put my failings down to being male and focused and therefore not being able to multi-task. I prefer this explanation (I think) to the alternatives of either (a) being told I don't listen, (b) being told I am forgetful or (c) being in a world of my own. Great offer I signed up to a 6 month subscription after seeing the blog (and receiving no valentine cards) not sure which was the most influential factor. I'll keep you posted if it's successful! The transaction was showing as pending less than 12 hours later, so looking good so far. |
